BEAMINSTER YOUTH AND COMMUNITY CENTRE

The Centre originally comprised of a three storey, Grade 2 listed building, fronting the main street in Beaminster, a single storey activity space and a two storey building to the rear courtyard area with various sheds and other single storey extensions.  To permit greater use of the existing buildings and bring more of the smaller buildings into use, a single storey building was constructed to link the outbuilding to the main building. The existing external timber staircase was enclosed with an extension and an access lift was provided within the main building. The courtyard area was landscaped and the office was relocated to the rear building overlooking the main entrance and courtyard approach.
